Microsoft Releases Hotfix to Fix Randomly Stop Responding Problem in Windows 7
Microsoft Releases Hotfix to Fix Randomly Stop Responding Problem in Windows 7
Problem Symptom:
A computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7 stops responding randomly. Applications or services that are running on the computer stop working correctly. Additionally, you cannot log on to the computer by using the remote desktop connection utility.
Cause:
This issue occurs because of a deadlock condition between the Lsass.exe process, the Redirected Drive Buffering Subsystem (Rdbss.sys) driver, and the Winsock kernel.
Solution:
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft.
Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem. download link

I had this problem using vista, the computer would lock up randomly, sometimes eve during a windows load.
Using 7 with all the updates, no problem at all (yet).
Does anyone have this problem on windows 7? And if so, what version are you running?

There is no problem for me either... but when I had Vista sometimes I've faced this problem. May be this problem is related to those who have done a upgrade to their systems( from Vista to 7) and didn't install a fresh one.
