Is Windows 7 a Vista Service pack in disguise

Windows 7 can be considered much improved service pack of Vista. MS released SP2 for Vista, which has technical similarities to Windows 7 (MinWin, WDM 1.1, Updated Patch Guard, etc.). Still Windows 7 has many distinguished features like Aero, Taskbar improvements, Libraries, Updated modules (IE, Windows Defender, Search, and Disk Defragmenter etc.), Device Stage, Gadgets, much improved stability, and reduced I/O load etc. Technically, it is enhanced service pack of Vista.

Thank you BF very much the way i was looking at 7 ... there should be little problem making Vista perform like windows 7 or even look like it if that's the road you want to take.. Vista was ahead of it's time and most pc's where underpowered and not ready for it.. bad press doomed a potentially good operating system bad advice from MS knowing that pc's could not cope.. but in my case Vista made me buy a more powerfull pc, that could run the operating system with ease, and windows 7 easier still..
