YouTube Goes Live – Live Video Streaming Coming Soon
YouTube, the online video sharing site is conducting an experiment to test the capabilities of the product over the live video streaming platform. The test is limited to a certain number of users which is a two-day pilot project ending Tuesday. YouTube along with partners, HowCast, Rocketboom, Next New Networks, and Young Hollywood were among the participating project. After results of the test, YouTube would roll out the live streaming project amongst other global partners to mark an expansion.
Authorities at YouTube reported:
This new platform integrates live streaming directly into YouTube channels, all broadcasters need is a webcam or external USB/FireWire camera. Included in the test is a ‘Live Comments’ module which lets you engage with the broadcaster and the broader YouTube community.
After the test made public, reports which were published earlier regarding the deal with Google which would allow the search giant to distribute pay-per-view through YouTube, might seem true.
This might not be something new for the public as Google delivered live video streaming showing live events of President Barack Obama’s Address, a U2 concert, Indian Cricket Matches and much more.
YouTube might need to look into this matter seriously as Live Video Streaming is already present in the market as Ustream, Justin.tv and Livestream. A total of 178 Million U.S Internet users watched online videos for an average of 14.7 hours per user amongst which YouTube is on the top, seconded by Yahoo and at the third position we have none other than the famous social network, Facebook.

Interesting read King, not my cup of tea at all unless they showed a live football game and no amature camera men, just another way to cash in and get rich,
I some how think this is nuts to do live streaming as i could imagine alot of idiots taking advantage of it, as a pay for view as Paul would put it pft.. it's all fun and games untill some-one gets hurt

Yes but what is you don't have a high-speed connection? Real-time streaming won't really be real time.

Real Time is always buffered... ever since Nipplegate, live TV is buffered, to cut out any accidental slips of the chest. So I don't see why it matters too much...
