They did....with Office 2010 Starter.Unfortunately, they don't release it to the public but only for those running OEM Windows 7 Starter. If you know where to find it, there's a way for you to install it on any other edition but that would be out of context in regards to this topic and may lead to borderline areas...
And then, there's WordPad which seems to be a 'stripped-down' version of MS Word for home users....especially the one in Win7. And not to mention, they have an online Office Live Workspace which I've never tried before.
It's fun to bash MS but sometimes, let's get real and fair. After all, they're a business entity, not a charitable organization. And nope, I'm not a MS fanboy..hardly.
