Want to make a blog, but a bit confused......
So i was thinkin bout making a blog, i am still uncertain about the content of it, but maybe of music, technology, movies, and entertainment and stuff. I am doing this just for a hobby, so i did some very basic research, and found that google blogger is free and popular and lets me earn money through adsense, then there is wordpress, which looks more interesting to me and i have read blogs made on wordpress and they look neat and appealing, so i thought lets go with wordpress, but then i found out it does not support money earning through adsense with a free WP account, either i purchase a membership, or find my own host, i know there are lots of free host out there, and even though i am new at all this, but if i am going to make one why not a good one, and so i found this on a blog http://www.geckoandfly.com/3368/free-top-wordpress-web-hosting-server-with-mysql-and-php/ , which says that this particular host provides me with the following features
5500 MB disk space
200 GB monthly transfer
50 MySQL databases
50 addon domains
at no cost, and theres no catch either , so i need your help on this, or if you could point me the direction to a better method or trouble free, keeping in mind i am new to blog making or writing....Thanks

Rather than fill a blog with other peoples suggestion use what interests you most, that way you know that you will keep uptodate with, To be honest Google is your friend, here most of my interests are covered by Raymonds blog or the forum.
I wish you luck with the Blog and all, but just stick with what you know or you can end up swamped, unless you have alot of time on your hands.

A self hosted wordpress would be better. Go for it.
You can install worpress using Softaculous in your web hosting control panel. So it won't be tough setting it up.
Geeks never die. They just go Offline.

Hi Motupa, I have used many free webhosting services for my blog PC Addons. I started with Blogger and then went to wordpress and I can say that wordpress is the best, for blogging platform only.
Secondly, based on my experience with Byethost services I strongly recommend you to stay away from them. I also wrote an article on AP comparing 4 free hosting services, and I recommend you to go through it and come to a conclusion.
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1819917/byethost_vs_astahost_vs_freehostia.html
Keep in mind, that free hosts offer many features that might attract you, but their reliability are less and your website may be taken down at any moment without any prior notice. Also, finding a free host with good support is very rare. I recommend freehostia, but the main limitation with freehostia is that it wont allow you to publish RSS feeds.
One more suggestion (I know I've already bored you much
) if you just want to start a blog and only want to publish content, then try Dreamhost Apps. DreamhostApps is a free hosting solution from Dreamhost.com. Dreamhost is an old company. They host many big blogs like labnol etc. All you have to do is, just buy a domain name. With Dreamhostapps you can just blog. You can't play with wordpress. (That's the only limitation with Dreamhost Apps)

Hobby? Start with either Blogger/Wordpress so that you wouldn't have to bother about hosting costs, etc. Learn the difference and decide which platform you're more comfortable with. And meanwhile, gain some knowledge on SEO..or keywords, etc to attract readers/visitors to your blog. This way, you have nothing to lose in case when things go wrong (not many readers/visitors) or you simply lose motivation to post new content. Only once you're reached the stage where you want to go 'professional' and earn some income, then listen to the guys above...especially the advice given by Takerraj.
P.S. I was once at the position you are currently but I lost motivation to continue....that's why my advice is to start from scratch (''free''). I've even bought a reputable offline book on how to earn money online but I've not finished reading it yet. I'm a lazy fellow, that's why
They call me the mysterious one...
my motto is...when it's hot, chill baby

First off you should have some very basic knowledge about web hosting and web design. Starting a blog it's not that easy but also it's not that hard. I'd suggest you to use wordpress.
Screw Google! Ask me!

First off all, it takes time for you to start getting any decent money through adsense. Your blog needs to get recognised; that is how you get money. The more visitors, the more clicks, the more money.
IMO, I dont like sites which auto install wordpress for you and only get you to write posts. I would search for free hosting sites and get a .co.cc domain (also free) and set up your wordpress site there. This way, you can add addons and also host other sites on the same account (providing your host allows addon domains)
