My addons list was limited to around 4 to 5 important stuffs only. So upgrading isn't an issue for me.

For established softwares, i do upgrade, no matter whether it was final or a beta one. I know that's quite strange from most of your way, but it did work for me.

In your case, i believe you can wait for the addons to become compatible before upgrade. As it wont harm if you upgrade later.
