    Created DVD-Video will not play in DVD player

    O/S Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit.
    Using Windows Live Movie Maker I created a movie from Videos and still photos, added sound and captions then saved using the recommended settings option in the share section of the Home page, to a folder on my Desk Top. Later that day I decided to burn the created movie to disc.
    I opened Windows DVD Maker and added my movie. Selected a menu and wording and then after a quick preview clicked on the burn to disc button.
    Disc burned ok and plays great on my computer. Decided to put it into the DVD player to view on the TV. Player would not recognise the disc hence it would not play. I have tried the disc in 3 different manufacturers players without success.
    Note, Before burning the movie creation, options were set for menu position, ie at the end or beginning and region set to PAL which is my region.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Check the region of your DVD player. It may be NTSC. Or the problem may be due to faulty disc. Try burning the movie again using another disc. Or you can do another thing. You can use mpg2cut2 which can convert the VOB files to mpg. You can create a data DVD with those mpeg files or you can use the mpg files to create another DVD in windows DVD maker.

    @chunky:
    -Export movie and then burn it using third party product via video disc creation wizard.
    -Use 8x speed for recording. Speed higher than this may cause faulty burning and remember to disconnect from internet and disable your AV for higher reliability.
    -Although regions are defined for each country, but I cannot see any visual difference (although I know technical differences).

    use something like dvdflick,which i think is more reliable and also try to use good quality disks and burn at 2-8x speed for maximum success rate.

    Thanks for all your input. I don`t think it is the discs because I am using JVC discs and up to date have wasted 5 dvd`s. I burn the dvd at a low speed which has been 4 and the region of the player is 2, PAL. I have not come across this problem in the past using other movie making software. This is the first time I have used Windows Live Movie Maker and Windows DVD Maker.
    With regards to using a different software to convert and burn dvd`s this should not be required if you think about it. The software should do what it says on the tin but in this instance the software appears to have been created and marketed but it is possibly not fit for the purpose.
    There again it could be that I do not know how to use it even after reading and following all the instructions for each step to the letter when my problems first occurred.
    I have googled the problem to see if others were experiencing the same difficulty. I am not alone and some recommend using third party software in addition, to achieve the results they need.
    I will try some of your suggestions but in this instance I am not hopeful. Thanks for taking the time to help.
