Installing XP issue
I have a few problems when installing XP.
1. Whenever I put in my XP CD into my laptop, it will load normally until the point it said setup is starting windows and I get a BSOD before I can reach the place where is showed the partition to install. It works allright for my Windows 7 DVD. How do I overcome this
2. When I insert my XP CD into my Father's laptop, it will load and then tell me Setup cannot detect hard disk. But when I on Windows like normal, it on like normal. So how to overcome this?
3. How do I make my USB bootable? I want to put in my XP iso into my usb but have no idea how.
Please help.
Thoughts are like a never ending ocean where it is deep, endless and dangerous

1. That XP installation disc is probably not compatible with your laptop. There are some CDROM that don't work so well and rather picky on the disc quality. Always remember to burn your disc at the slowest speed possible.
2. Refer to this article: http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2008/01/21/install-xp-setup-did-not-find-any-hard-disk-drives-installed-in-your-computer/
3. Use WintoFlash which works for XP as well: http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2009/09/09/how-to-install-windows-7-faster-using-usb-flash-drive/

Most of the time, that is one of the major reason for faulty installation. Try to use a new installation disc.

You got BSOD because the xp you were installing dint have SATA HDD drivers integrated with it. You'll get many online tutorials which will guide you how to integrate SATA drivers with your old XP.

You know, this is something I wish I could do on my laptop, but it's stuck on Windows Vista or above only due to no drivers rolled out for the other components for XP.

I was lucky enough to get a driver installation CD with my PC that had all the drivers for XP on it.

If that is so, Lunar should go into the bios and see if there is an IDE-emulation mode switch.

or as an alternative use nlite and driverpacks to create your own install disc on a new CD..

That is even better of course, but also more work. If the emulation mode allows installation, then you know the disk is OK.

experienced that before....i ended up using nLite and slipstreamed the satadrivers..now before i do any installation i check first wether there's an issue and make a custom unattended-installation disc for XP.
guys at Microsoft only allow the (dead)floppy disc for the hit F6....they should have gave us that consideration a long time ago...should be via USB but it can't be done at the moment......
custom installation was in XP though haven't tried it yet on Windows 7...no time ha ha
