    Cool Is is necessary to install Windows 7 SP1...?

    I have been using windows 7 professional ,and windows update notification is showing that i need to download windows 7 sp1 ..? But i find the file is too large and it does not be an big impact after installing ..? Shall i install it or not ..?

    i think a lot of future updates depend on it, i've installed it and if anything its improved system performance so i would say yes

    As a general rule you should always keep Windows up to date unless you have a custom old software that does not work with it.

    You could always run Windows update after you have gone to bed, or while you are at work. That way it wouldn't take up resources when you are on your computer.

    you can take your time to upgrade. Because Microsoft will still support the original build, but support of that build will end much before sp1. At that time you will have to upgrade to receive security updates.

    There is nothing in SP1 that is mandatory, more of a cumulative update. But, as mentioned, at some later date SP1 will likely be required to continue to receive support. A Guy

    It is necessary for me to install service pack until I have solid reason for post ponding it like compatibility issues of old software which is very rare. Windows 7 SP1 does not introduce any major under the hood changes, which can break your OS. Therefore, you should install it.
    Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate x86 + KIS 2011 (11.0.2.556 b.a.c.d) + Sandboxie Paid (3.54) + Deep Freeze Standard (7.20.020.3398)
