Problems with installing GeForce 210 Card
Hi everyone.
As you may have seen, I posted a topic last week when I was considering to purchase the above card.
I decided to make the purchase, but am having loads of problems which I hope someone will be able to help me with.
I would have posted this to the official forums, but they don't offer an audio captcha.
After installing the card into my Advent SE2102, I disconnected my monitor from the on-board VGA port, and connected it to the card. After attempting to boot the PC, however, the eenitial text scrolled on the screen, and then the computer rebooted without any error messages what soever.
I then disconnected the card, and the PC booted without any problems what soever, at which time I attempted to install the drivers from the provided CD. I had to run each setup installer indevidually; the provided file that was ran with autorun.inf couldn't be read by a screen reader.
After installing and rebooting, I then faced a BSOD, which I managed to fix by first booting into Safe Moad, removing everything that the CD installed, and then finally, when that didn't fix my problem, by uninstalling the driver from Device Manager.
After rebooting with my monitor still connected to the card, everything seemed to be working fine. However, after doing a cold boot, I was stuck in the constantly rebooting without any error problem.
I've tried removing the monitor VGA cable altogether and connecting it to the onboard VGA connector, neither of which fix my problem.
Here are my specs, nothing overclocked:
OS:
Windows 7 Home Premium X64 (I made sure to install the 64-Bit drivers from the CD)
CPU:
Intel Pentium Dual Core E5400 2.7GHz 800FSB Socket 775 2MB (2x1MB) L2 Cache
Motherboard:
Foxconn G31AX/G31MG/G31MV/G31MX Series (sorry, I can't be more spacific)
Chipset:
Intel Bearlake G31
RAM:
3061 MB (DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM)
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Elliott.

Hi Elliot try this LINK here when you start you pc in safe mode, basicly your disabling the onboard driver, and unistall the drivers that came with the disk and get yourself the latest drivers from Nvidia as the ones on the disk are out-dated, Nvidia have a neat utility that can check your card for the most recent drivers, you have to accept an active X install if you trust Nvidia

Hi, and thanks for your help.
After following your suggestion of disabling my Intel GPU in Device Manager, I once again re-installed the card. The PC boots, however I am unable to see the card in Device Manager, and by running the NVIDIA driver installer; it can't find any compatible devices.
Interestingly, however, in Storage Controllers, I have NVIDIA nForce RAID Controller, NVIDIA nForce RAID Device, and NVIDIA nForce RAID Device. These could have been left over from the last attempt, I guess.
Any more suggestions?
Thanks,
Elliott.

hi eelliot check this card on other pc and see if you are getting a display from discreet Gpu , also try to disable onboard graphic in bios (set pci-e ) as a default display .
