Post Mozilla plans to kill Firefox 3.5 through auto update

In the next month or so Mozilla:
it will "force 3.6 on 3.5 stragglers not choosing to update to Firefox 4 or 3.6 (give them the stick)," wrote Christian Legnitto, the Firefox release manager . . . On June 21, the day Firefox 5 is supposed to ship, Mozilla will automatically push Firefox 3.6.18 -- a standard security update -- if the company resolves a few remaining bugs. If those bugs don't get fixed by then, the auto-update will hit Firefox 3.5 users some time later.
An interesting move by Mozilla. What do you guys think, is it a good thing to protect unknowledgeable users or is Mozilla crossing the line and acting too much like a "big brother"?

Mozilla 4.0 lacks in add on integration, that's why i switch on to ff 3.5, although 4 is faster than 3.5.
And if u wil install 3.5 and than 4, it wil force remove the old version and same in the case of auto update by lower version,
i have discontinueod the auto update facility of firefox.
What do u mean by user friendly software- it must be configured as a user want, forcing over them wil result in switching over to other browser. And chrome is running very fast :-D

Firefox 4 works great . Transformation tricks are available on web so move forward and use FF4 and make it's user interface like FF3. So why stick with FF3 ?? . Good move by them .
I don't need to know everything, I just need to know where to find it, when I need it.

Mozilla plans to push 12 million users of the aged Firefox 3.5 to a newer version next month by taking the unprecedented step of automatically upgrading their browser.
That's normal. Firefox 3.5 is now equivalent to previous version of Internet Explorer.

One of the company's major mission is to protect their tangible and intangible services by regularly updating it. In the said process, hence also protect the users. Any browsers that is already 2 years old, is at the end phase, will always be considered a security risk. Loyal users are free to use any outdated softwares as they like, but at the end of the day, they also need to embrace the reality that technology is progressive and not stagnant.

Guys, what are the main problems with FF4? Security? heaviness? Or is it just a matter of taste? I'm using it (as well as IE9 and Opera 11.10) and it feels fine to me, no problems with most (the most important) add-on.
