Windows 7 taskbar issue

I was playin a game in my Windows 7 laptop when my bro called me up and told me to check my e-mail. I paused the game and pressed the Win key (the game was in fullscreen) so that it minimizes and lets me check the mail. But as soon as I pressed it, the game didn't minimize to the taskbar although the game disappeared from the screen. Initially I thought that the game has closed for some reason but then I found that the process was still on and running. There was no way I could restore the game so that I can start playin again. And when I try to start it from the Task Manager, the screen goes black but I can't see the game anymore. Only the game music is heard. Is my graphics card anyway responsible for this? Is there any way it can be stopped?

Known bug with DirectX games. Either exit them off or don't do it.

Either way, graphics card has nothing to do with this, and no way to stop it. It's how DirectX grabs the info... and alt-tab breaking it. Least that's what I was told what causes it.

when tasks are shown in task manager but you cant get back to that task ,you can force the task to the front ,opening task manager click the task and select "switch to" ,that should bring the task to the front

Tango, I can confirm this doesn't work with DirectX videogames. Most times, they open, yes, but just give you a black screen with audio.

This is exactly what happens here. DirectX compatibility issues huh. I should have stuck to Soccer.
