Wink No valid IP configuration for wireless network connection?

    Hi guys.

I recently purchased a new USB wireless adaptor; my old one was doing odd things. Unlike my older model, however, this required the installation of some software, which wasn't the most accessible to a screen reader. Therefore, I allowed Windows to autimatically install the driver, and I connected manually using the Network and Sharing Center. After I'd entered my network key and hit the Connect button, I was told that I had limited or no connectivity, so I hit the Troubleshoot button which told me that the connection didn't have a valid IP configuration.

Does anyone know what this means? My Router is set up to autimatically alicate IP's using DHCP.

    Cheers.

    Elliott.

Most of the time it is due to accidentally entering the wrong network key.
Try removing the network from "Manage wireless networks" at Network and Sharing Center, and then re-add the wireless network again.

Hi, and thanks for your reply.

The key was correct; after I ran the Troubleshooter, I was able to connect. I've never seen that message before, and was just wondering what Windows could have modified.

    Thanks.

try setting up a static ip address ,if it still fails then uninstalling the driver and install again

also you could try to get a new lease from dhcp

    1. open cmd prompt
    2. type "ipconfig /release" without quotes
    3. then "ipconfig /renew" without quotes again
