Setting Google Chrome Canary as Default Browser

    Hello everybody,

I am new to this forum but I have been reading Raymond.cc for a while. The tips are sometimes very helpful, so I thought this would be a good place to post this.

I wrote this simple tool (really just a registry file) to set Google Chrome Canary as the default browser. Right now it only works on Windows Vista and above (due to it using C:\Users\) and only when the main drive is C, but if you want you can easily modify the registry file to work on XP or if your main drive is something else.

All you have to do is replace YourUsernameHere in Registry.reg with your username and you should be all set!

All it does is manually registers Canary in the registry as the default handler for the http and https protocols, and the .htm and .html file types, like any other browser would do.

Apparently I cannot post a link, so I will add the file as an attachment.

If you have any problems, please post them and I will be glad to help.
