Search Suddenly all USB ports stopped working on win 7

That day suddenly my PC's USB ports stopped working. I tried all USB ports with deferent kinds of drives(pendirve, mobile, modem) but computer is not responding. I tried reinstalling my windows 7 but remains same. I also tried Ubuntu, Mint, Hirens Boot CD etc but no OS finds my any kind of USB disc. On windows 7 I tried uninstalling and installing USB drives manually but don't work. In the mean time today at dawn one of my USB modem started working(on Win7) but after some seconds it became like before.

Can anyone figure out which problem I'm facing? Is it related to my hardware?

Absolutely. I guess it's a loose connection problem.

you may try this Microsoft fix-it
Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows

    I hope that helps

To be honest, I think this problem is more serious as rijans stated the USB's don't work in Hirens & Linux either which makes trying any Windows fixes pretty much irrelevant. If the problem occurs on the rear motherboard connected ports as well, it definitely looks to be a hardware problem.

Assuming the BIOS settings are all correct, there really isn't much else it can be but the board. Something to note though, over the years I have seen things like this and other various motherboard problems being caused by a fault in the PSU.

This will sound crazy, but you may be happily surprised. Unplug the PC's power cord. Let it sit about 1/2 an hour. Plug it back in and try it again. It may not work, but this works for LAN and USB as well. A Guy

A Guy is nearlly right, its called a ATX reset, unplug everything from the computer including power cord, then hold in the power button for 20 to 25 seconds then plug everthing back in and power it up. what this does is remove the static from the hardware that can stop computers from working. but i dont think its a static problem, sounds to me its hardware failure..
Out of my mind. I Haven't Lost My Mind, It's Backed Up On Disk Somewhere.

Nearly right?! Actually, the idea of the 1/2 hour is time for all the capacitors to discharge so when power is applied, and the PC is turned on, the CPU runs through all the startup handshakes and if it was a glitch, then it will start from square one. Holding the power button for a few seconds can work, but if not, the 2nd try is for 1/2 an hour. So I just jumped to the 2nd step, as leaving a PC unplugged for 1/2 an hour is no big deal Odds are this won't work, but I have personally had it work on my LAN. Worth a try for sure. A Guy

It seems like the exhaust and refreshment voltage, so there's no harm in trying..
