Hp laptop restarts suddenly
Hi there,
My HP laptop, is restarting itself without any prior notice or something. For example while I'm chating, suddenly i see that the screeen becomes black and then restarts windows from the beginning.
Any ideas of what is causing this?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Raymond Forum arminn. What Operating System are you using? Are there any errors when it shuts down, or after restart? Event Viewer will perhaps yield some clues. Specifics will be easier when we know which OS you have. A Guy

If you notice no errors either when it restarts or in Event Viewer, tell us a little about when it restarts, are you using it on a bed or something else that might block the circulation of the laptop?

Unsollicited restarts often have to do with faulty memory or power unit. Also, look in your BIOS to see if it is configured to restart in case of an OS-error.

Not all the time. Sometimes, it has to do with heat, especially if it's a laptop and is located somewhere where the vents are closed off, like on a bed.

use bluescreenview or disable automatic restart in advanced system properties advanced tab, when it happens again give us the reported error code.
bluescreenview will tell u the last error that happened and what caused it, most commonly is a driver problem
