    DVD Drives not recognized

After rebooting pc both DVD drives are not recognized. I have a Pioneer DVD-216D and a Pioneer DVR-212D. I have uninstalled from device manager then rebooted and nothing. I then unplugged and the replugged the drives and no luck. I get the message Windows cannot load the device Driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted. Thanks.

I have an ASUS DRW-1608P2S is almost 6 years. Can play CD, VCD, but suddenly can no longer play DVD. I think optical is weak, can not read DVD discs. But it can still play CD and VCD all running nice and smoothly..

What is the error number listed when you get this error? (Code ##).

When I insert a DVD disc and was not detected, it says no disc in drive F:. But when inserting a CD or VCD directly play, running smoothly.

I have a ASUS CRW-5232A3 and ASUS DRW-1608P2S, they're almost 6 years. The problem is only on the ASUS DRW-1608P2S suddenly can not play DVD discs.

Yet when compared, more task on the ASUS CRW-5232A3. Since I mostly use it and was almost 6 years old still running smoothly.

I am satisfied to use the ASUS and it really has good durability.

There is no error number. I can go to explorer and I have no D or E drive. I open Device Manager and both drives have a yellow exclamation mark. I tried troubleshooting from Device Manager and that is when I get the message about the drive may be corrupted or missing, it does show a code 39.

Try to read from a CD if it can read the CD. It means that the DVD laser dead.
