Need help - files being generated in temp directory, not a virus

I get these folders in my temp directory: C:\Users\mistermojorizin\AppData\Local\Temp

they are named things like temp1_[name of a folder on my computer] . they will begin to generate and then i have to delete them or i will run out of space on my computer. inside they contain links to some websites like pc club. usually 1 file per folder.

the process explorer.exe will show activity and if I restart the process when it's happening, the folders will stop to generate. but not permenantly.

i have the latest version of avira security suite and keep it updated and it is super aggressive and sensitive so I doubt it's a virus. I've also checked the system with a2 or emisoft or whatever it's called and other programs. So I doubt it's a virus. spyware maybe.

I can't track this thing down, and I know this is one place where I will get some good advice.

I run vista 64 on a lenovo core 2 duo laptop with 4gb ram. i dual boot into backtrack3 off a usb drive from time to time

any help would be very appreciated

Hello and welcome to the forum mistermojorizin. You should scan your computer with Kaspersky TDSS Killer and any good AntiVirus rescue disk to be extra sure. What I'm thinking is that maybe this could be because of some compatibility issues with the software you use. This exact thing happened when I tried to run BitDefender on my old computer. The moment I uninstalled BitDefender, it stopped.

I think that's normal as I have a lot of folders and files in my temp folder as well.
Currently takes up 1GB of space.

Can you check how much space is taken in Temp folder?

thanks for your replies but I assure you guys it's not normal. i'm pretty familiar with computers, though not as advanced as you guys, but this is something new. it will continue increasing in size rapidly till my computer doesn't function anymore. folders are name temp1_[foldername] temp2_[foldername] and contain 1 url link per file. if i have 10gb free it'll be 10gb. if I have 20 gb free it'll be 20gb and very quickly with useless folders

Can you attach some of the files that are being generated? Like you said links to PC club?

once you open any browser and browse sites. for example youtube. some files get stored in your temp folder. if you are watching youtube the video you are watching can be found on your temp file or if you play flash games online you can find the .swf file on your temp file.

Yes sir your right flash videos are "fla" but you will find them right protected so i use a great free console tool called HoboCopy like this...
    Code:
    XP - hobocopy %Temp% C:\HoboCopy fla*.tmp
    Code:
    Vista/7 - hobocopy %LocalAppData%\Temp C:\HoboCopy fla*.tmp

I still have no idea exactly what it was incompatible with. But what I do remember is that the installer was downloaded from a Chinese promo that Raymond posted on his forum long ago.
