EA Hate
Am I the only one here that is fit to be tied when I see EA/Electronic Arts releasing a PC game?
Console-wise, their releases aren't bad. But on PC, I've run into so many issues, I've basically given up on them.
On top of that, I don't want or need Origin, I've got Steam, so good luck trying to switch me over. Oh wait.. you can't.
I don't even care for the fact MW3 and Battlefield 3 are coming out either... I feel quite upset with them too, since they're dragging down the standards for shooters. Regenerating health? Gritty 'realism'? What happened to games like Quake and Unreal Tournament? Duke Nukem 3D, where you can run and gun, rather then worry about taking two shots to the face and if a third hit you, you'll die, but if you'll wait, you'll recover.
Perhaps it's just me... but I love the older shooters, and old fashioned ones too. Of course there are exceptions... but most of the new shooters I hate.

Have to agree with the three shots and your dead as this only really made sense with Resistance where he was a mutant and could heal quickly... EA are not bad for consoles like the PS3 and i haven't used them on the pc, for years even then i thought it was way too much of an install, im thinking i will leave games untill next year after i have read the experience of users here, maybe an SSD will help make the trasnsition better as i don't like the load times....

Yeah, well I've gone though Red Alert 3 as well as quite a number of other games though EA for PC. Can't name them all because I've lost count... and when it comes to their technical support, it's appalling.

If that's the case, why are we regenerating health?

Hi there,
EA still makes a lot of mistakes, especially treating PC gamers poorly (bad console ports, no DLC or bonus stuff, DRM in some games that are sold on steam, no PC demos when there are console demos...) but they are nowhere as bad as Activision is. I'm just glad that I don't like any of their games (I don't count in Starcraft 2 and the recently launched Diablo 3 because so far Blizzard still seems to be doing their own thing). While I think there's still room for improvement for EA, I have lost all hope for Activision.
Regards,
Vicky

Activision's been pretty bad too, though I've not gone so far to boot them off my 'will never buy' list. I've had a few screwovers with them, but their support has helped me more then EA.
EA blocked me from reinstalling Red Alert 3 on my desktop recently because I had used the license key up too many times. Keep in mind, I had five activations. Two were on my old laptop, and one was on my current i5 PC. 2 + 1 != 5, last I checked.

Oh dear lord no. I have a heart condition, apparently. Only thing I can drink with caffeine is tea or Diet Coke with little/no caffeine.

You can't spell epic fail without ea.
Shift 2 was awful even now it is unplayable on console,no patch,Pc version was fixed after a patch suprisingly and the dlc packs for pc were free of charge unlike the console another suprise.
There latest offering battlefield 3,well the campaign is so short It makes danny devito look tall and the run has got to be the worst game ever just play the demo.
Like most companys now they just don't care about quality it is more about quantity.
If you want a challenge for a game just play dark souls.

Dwarf Fortress and Minecraft. Hard enough for me, that's for sure.
