Cool Anybody with dissasembling and hex editing experience?

    I was given the advice:
"you basically need to disassemble the loader to find out how flash memory can be read and where to inject code. Then you need to guess the range of memory to be searched. With all of that, you can modify the patch accordingly."

Well other than a few hex edits,to correct version incompatibility of certain updates. I don't have much experience on this front.
it would be helpful, If anybody with experience can provide tutorials or any help.

If anybody wants to offer personal help, please PM.

PS:I assume its not against rules to discuss dissasembling and hex editing.

From the sentence, it is certainly not something that everyone can just learn how to do it within a day or two.
I know many crackers uses OllyDbg to disassemble programs and see what the program does.
What are you trying to do actually?

My friend gave me a a Broadband stick while he was visiting on holidays in my country, the sticks operator doesn't operate in my country. I`m trying to get it to work.
I`m trying to modify a patch , which by all means seems to be impossible without help.

Sorry, hacking memory and hardware is definitely out of what I can do.

For topics like these, I normally get help from cracking forums. I'll PM you some of the links.

Thanx a lot. Googling for hours, led me to the realisation, Some of those forums tend to be unindexed, for obvious reasons.

Offtopic: I've had to wait for 2 years to find resources and tuts , just to get a game "Commandos : Destination Berlin " run in 1366*768 rather than the offered 1024*768 (somehow the games coding team concluded that 1366*768 was not necessary).

Today i visit those forums, and lying there is everything I needed to know, to it by myself(-the textures.)I wish i had asked you this earlier. Treasure trove of tuts.

U don't need to edit anything, u can download software to unlock to any network, I did my vodaphone dongle

---------- Post added at 01:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:08 AM ----------

I have experience in hex editing and simple coding in 68000, if u get me the make and model of the USB dongle, I'll see if I still have the unlocking software and if that dongle is supported

This Software supports various usb modems.. I used it on my vodaphone usb modem http://www.dc-unlocker.com/
Out of my mind. I Haven't Lost My Mind, It's Backed Up On Disk Somewhere.
