I use email for everything. Facebook is limited and only to ask questions on when I want to meet up with someone or get information on something.

Can't think of any other reason why I use Facebook, and really don't use it to share features with other sites.

I don't think e-mail will die, because of Facebook, or Twitter. There are still a lot of people, who don't like social networks, my dad is one of them , and depend on e-mail as one of their main ways to communicate for his business.

The same thought occurred to me also. It seems like a valid E-mail address is required to do most transactions online nowadays, so I can't see it becoming obsolete quite yet.

Indeed, not to count that I have some e-mail addresses which are daily spammed and since I check thousand of malicious or scam/phish sites a week in order to report them to the proper authorities, how could I live without? ; )

Excuse me. As long as we still have postal services, why would anyone think email would die?

P.S. Duh...maybe it's the 2012 'end of world' fever spreading to non-living things too...
