nero 10 installetion problem
hi everyone,
i have a pc with config
p4 2.4 GHz, 512 mb ram, 40gb hdd, winxp pro sp3 installed
My C drive has only 6gb space, on which 1.4 is now free.
when i try to install Nero 10 in my PC, it says "you need 1.9gb free space in C drive"
my other drive has free spaces like
D--3.9gb
E---1.75
F---1gb
G---1.4gb
To free up more space, i uninstall what ever i can, but still some important software are installed & which i can not want to uninstall.
So if any one can help me in this regard so that i can install my required software without any problem i will be very much thankful.
thanks.

During setup, select custom installation, choose drive "D", eg to: D:\Program Files\Nero\
Also, you can select only those components from Nero that you really need, eg: Nero SoundTrax; Nero Vision; Nero Recode, etc.
To free up more space, i uninstall what ever i can, but still some important software are installed & which i can not want to uninstall.
Or instead, you can move some important software from your "C" drive to "D", to get free space for Nero on "C". If you want Nero to be installed on "C".

Seriously, with that old computer, you should not be using Nero 10.
Try using other third party disc burning software such as CDBurnerXP or InfraRecorder which is lighter and smaller.

Are you saying you have a 40Gb HDD split 5 ways?? If so, that's a lot of partitions for such a small drive. It would be advisable to consider cutting it down to 2. Looking at it, there's about 9.5Gb free across all partitions, which is loads to install what you want, but can't because it's spread 5 ways. Even if you get Nero on the D: drive, this problem will no doubt crop up again in the future with the current setup.
Raymond is spot on as well, if you haven't 'purchased' Nero 10, seriously think about using something a bit less resource hungry. Nero has become a slow and bloated piece of trash in the last few years and will help bring your system to it's knees if you install the whole suite. I would also add Burnaware and possibly Ashampoo Burning Studio to the free burning apps Raymond mentioned.
If you did purchase Nero 10 and really must install it, try what Nick Vini said or cut the partition count down a bit. 4.7Gb free on 2 partitions is much better than an average of 1.9Gb free over 5.
On a side note, your next PC related purchase should really be a few hardware upgrades. If money is tight, 512MB of extra RAM and an 80GB HDD is dirt cheap from ebay and will make a noticeable difference.

Nero is really good example when we come to program which story goes like: latest version is not always better!
Example CDBurnerXP do everything that and more, it's 100% free and there's also a Portable version available!
Yes you are right -> English is not my nature language = Me talk bad English

bala2, could be good to upgrade your system...
What is 512 MB RAM and 40 GB disk space today? Upgrade your HDD to 100 GB at least (probably IDE, if it is old? not SATA?), also having 1 GB RAM is necessary today to be at least a bit happy.

I am fully agreed with Raymond. Nero10 is too bold and its also quite heave for P4 PC. You can choose CDBurnerXP or InfraRecorder or Ashampoo disk burner. If you still want to use Nero then use older version of nero, for example Nero 7 will be best for P4 PC
