Angry Wikipedia announced strike deadline for 24 hours...

    Hi guys!

This I saw today on Wikipedia ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

Wikipedia is protesting against SOPA and PIPA by blacking out the English Wikipedia for 24 hours, beginning at midnight January 18, Eastern Time. Readers who come to English Wikipedia during the blackout will not be able to read the encyclopedia. Instead, you will see messages intended to raise awareness about SOPA and PIPA, encouraging you to share your views with your representatives, and with each other on social media.

    Code:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:SOPA_initiative/Learn_more
    I fully support the protest!

I heard about this on the news this morning, but as I understand, it only affects us here in the US, but not the rest of the world. Nevertheless it is typical of the path the US Gov't has been on the past few years and I really hope the citizens of my country will wake up and say to them, "Hey, enough is enough!" before it is too late and we lose all our freedom.

You already know that we totally agree on this Bearcat. It makes me so angry, when I hear people say things like, "I don't vote, because I don't it really doesn't matter if I do." But how else can people change the ways things are, unless they take an active interest in doing so.

I very rarely use wikipedia but it is also blacked out here, I agree with the protest we have a fascist b*stard called David Cameron in charge over here (the new Thatcher) another one who wants to take your freedom away.

Nope. I've heard of this quite some time ago and have been reading into the subject. Somehow, it does affect the rest of the world too...which is why I'm concerned and I am heavily against it.

    I've created a thread here:

I stand corrected safeguy. But in a way I am glad that it affects the world, because now more pressure can be applied to the US gov't. And trust me, they aren't working for the good of the American people and haven't been for quite a few years. The worst part is, the average US citizen doesn't seem to care as long as they get their gov't check in the mail. Its a big part of why we are 15 trillion dollars in debt. This is not the same country I grew up in and I just hate what has happened.
