Browser(s) issue to access autheticated intranet sites

    Hi,

Have peculier problem which is making me sick since last 1 week. Some of the secured intranet sites of my client are accessed via authentication (webpage form which checks login creadentials before it actually diverts to original site). Everything was fine a week back and since last 1 week authentication page starts cribbing "login failed". Intial assumption was that my profile got corrupted, but later i realised that access is working fine from my colleagues PC and it seems that authentication requests from my PC are not at all reaching at server side and within PC itself its internally doing something and giving back response as "login failed". Problem is same with all browsers.

    Tried all possible options like

    1. deleted temp/cookies/cache etc.
    2. uninstall and reinstall of all browsers ( except IE as i am on windows 7)
    3. removed saved password (from windows vault) under credential manager.

None of this option gave me solution. After downgrading IE from 9 to 8 solved problem atleast on IE, but problem still exists on other browsers and working on IE 8 is pathetic. My gut feeling is that windows 7 is internally stored credentials somewhere and its checking within PC without sending it to target system. Would highly appreciate if any had come across similar problem in the past and got solution. Thanks in advance.

Login credentials to website are not pulled from one universal location as different browsers uses different profiles.
Have you by any chance installed any software especially security related?

Do your PC also uses proxy server to connect to the Internet? If yes, you may want to configure it to bypass proxy server for local addresses. It is at Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN Settings.
