Does Chrome auto-update?

I dont know if i messed my Chrome up, or otherwise. My Chrome never seems to auto-update , i manually have to go to "About Google Chrome" to update. I don't remember changing an settings relating to updates.

PS: I only remember using a chrome release channel changer, but i reverted and am currently using the stable channel for windows.

If you ask me, I manually update Chrome all the time from the About menu.
There is a GoogleUpdate.exe in msconfig though...
I think this requires further investigation.
