Well interesting, I could imagine that it is possible to assemble 10 computers in a one hour by one human, I also belive that there is number of fast ones that can do more than 10 computers, maybe even over 20, if they are experienced, good prepared and fully ready to do it. Preparing, assembling desktops is something like an assembling construction toys, as Lego for example. I didn't do that anyway, I haven't had such possibility as I didn't , don't and probably won't have so many computers, but I could imagine this process according to normal logic. In regards to installing OS's for 10 computers in a 1 hour, so I guess it is possible, in this case you should have a dexterous hands and a good reaction. But it's only for enthusiasts and professionals, usually, simple user does not need it.

I think the answer to the question was an honest answer, and quality counts higher than quantity in my book but then again im not the one paying the wages... sometimes it's just better to think outside the box..
Here's hoping you get the job.

The IT HEAD is just asking an illogical question which probably has got nothing to do with your job, unless your job is to participate in a computer building contest.
To assemble a computer really fast, you definitely need a good case that don't require screwdrivers. Just put in the hardware and lock it. As for installation, imaging should do it. Imaging a clean Windows 7 takes about 2-4 minutes depending on the specifications of the computer.
60 minutes for 10 computers.
You only have 6 minutes per computer.
If Windows can be installed in 2 minutes using imaging, you have 4 minutes to assemble it.
I would say it's possible but requires practice to achieve that.
