I have this problem:
I leave my PC on For most fo the night downlaoding songs and movies using Limewire.
I have Windows XP SP2 installed.
I use proxy to access teh internet as my ISP has been providing me Proxy to access the Internet.
My Problem is that: Internet Connection Gets Disconnected after certain Hours of use. As I have already sadi I leave the Internet Connection on for hole night. All the programs are running smoothly only My internet Connection is disconnected. There is no power cut.
This has caused me a great loss as I have to pay the ISP the same charge I use or not the Internet.
Help
IS there any solution to this?

I don't update Windows, rather I search and download latest Windows XP Version with latest update.
I used to apply Windows Xp Patcher. But I did not understand how that works. I installed thats all.

I think the most likely reason is that it's your ISP's fault. Why type of internet do you have, Cable, DSL, etc.

i do know that thier have been alot of issues reguarding windows xp sp2 and holding an internet connection. i have seen it firsthand with dialup connections, but they use much of the same elements for all types of internet connections. the semptoms are svhosts crashing or the internect connection stoping all functionality silently. any broadband connection that is reset should be completely reconnected automaticly weither or not it is infact the isp. if this is infact the case i would suggest you boot up your copy of firefox and visit www.windizupdate.com. no bullshit updates. i love it. if your operating system is not the issue i would ask you to give indepth info on your system stats, connection and proxy settings, and isp name and polices. this would require you to call tech support and see if an actual limitation is in place. oh and i am assuming you have the most up-to-date ethernet drivers or whatever kind of modem you use.
