a few days ago i burned a mpeg file onto a cd-r,

on my pc the dvd's sound works perfectly but on my dvd player no sound comes up.

is there anyway to solve this problem

It should be the audio codec problem. Your DVD player doesn't support the audio used in the mpg file.

how do you fix the problem with the codec

I don't think there's anything you can do on the DVD player. I am not sure if you can remaster the audio in an mpg file using another codec.
