problem with opening programs.

everytime i try to open a program,say firefox, it always pops up the "open With" box,
it makes me do this for everyprogram..and i cant install anyprograms either.
the only work around i found was to open the program with itself..if its already on the list, or go into the windows folder and find the .exe file of itself...
anyone know how to fix this?

Your Windows file association is messed up, probably by a virus.

Go to Control Panel > Folder Options > File Types tab. You'll see a list of association there. But as for EXE association, it won't be in there. Please refer to this article.
