Thanks for the free Iolo anti virus. :DTrying it out now it uses far less RAM than Mcaffee. Doesn't do as much but then Mcaffee had features that system mechanic had and with SM i can choose when to use these features as opposed to using 75 M of Ram when not needed. One question tho. In the options of whether to disinfect, quarantine there is an option to "rename" an infected file. What purpose does renaming the file serve. I assume if its renamed then XP will not run the file but am not sure to the reason for this option. Or possibly some Av will delete or quarantine exe files maybe this si the reason for renaming thsi way the file is left alone ??

No problem Rusty ;)
Renames the file so that it ends in INFECTED. This way the file no longer has an executable extension.
Let's say it detected virus in blueray.exe. It will rename to blueray.exe.infected. This way you will never run the blueray.exe in executable format.
