Sounds to me like it is the stick itself. You can only read/write to them so many times. Maybe it's just tired (or flawed?). happens sometimes.

So is it time to bid adieu to the stick or do I continue using it with the error message popping up everytime?

Since it is not working on another machine, we can pretty much rule out hardware/software problems on your machine. What's left? The stick. Error messages can be annoying, but if it's all you've got, I guess you can try to keep using it....just don't put anything valuable/important on it without backup. Try to back up what is on it just in case. Or, copy its contents to another stick, and see it that stick works. If not, you've probably got some corrupted files. Good luck.
