Some few Weeks before Suddenly i got the error message

"A DISK READ ERROR OCCURED & PRESS CTRL + ALT + DEL"

    when i restarted my computer.

When i googled i saw in most forums that this error is due to hard disk, so i applied for an new HARD DISK and got replaced yesterday.

I installed WINDOWS XP SP2 and it worked fined yesterday and today morning i just started my computer hence i got the same "DISK READ ERROR"

My HARD DISK model is SEAGATE BARRACUDA 250GB SATA.

I have seen in lot of forums but no clear answers to this problem.

Today i came across this wonderful site where there are lot of useful things for beginners .

So please help me out in this following issue..

And seeing some previous threads in this forum regarding the issue i like to mention my BIOS settings,

My hard disk is detected and boot priority is set as 1.CD/DVD rom, 2.FLOPPY DRIVE, 3.HDD

i also set HDD as first boot priority but nothing worked for me.

Is this problem due to an SATA cable or SMPS power cable?

please mention what may be the reason and help to fix the problem...

    THANK YOU.

If this is a new hdd and old one did same then my bet is cables ether power or sata ,try another sata cable and use a differnt plug from the psu!.... "worst case is ,just because its new ,dont mean to say its not faulty" ,double check that bios is set to boot from hdd first..! ,u could also try going into u boot menu on startup and select hdd, try other things like disconnect the cd/dvd drive ,floppy ,if all fails get a big hammer and in big letters write "Off" on it and use it to fix ya pc ;) ... i cant think of anything else but it is late and past me bed time, if anything comes to mind ill post it!... l8rs dudes!!
Out of my mind. I Haven't Lost My Mind, It's Backed Up On Disk Somewhere.
