IIS has more security flaws. Linux servers are more secure & consume less resources but some of them aren't user-friendly.
But personally, I've used server 2003 & i like IIS.

OS doesn't matter, it's the web server that matters.
here's a report that says it all - Apache is the most used webserver & IIS is in second place.

If you're talking about webserver, I'd definitely prefer Apache. Windows FTP can't support CHMOD and need to ask the webhost to do it all the time. But in Apache, I can easily CHMOD with my FTP client.

I'm using LAMP on my dedicated server. It takes much lesser resources, unlike the slightly bloated cpanel which eats up quite a lot of memory....

Apache will run on Windows, but was designed for Linux, and runs much better on Linux. It's a fine example of Open Source software.
Mankind hates what it fears, and fears what it cannot understand.
Therefore, hatred is a by-product of ignorance!
