laptop using excessive RAM

hey gang i made it back after a lengthy hospital stay. I FINALLY got the laptop set up but need to get it optimized. I am using 30 % of RAM at start up. Do laptops just require more RAM to run Vista is a mem hog. Probably need xp64.but will do for now. Just happy to be wireless and back to my fav forum

Yeah 30% isn't much. Just use Minimem to keep those memory eating monsters down to the minimum at every 30 seconds.
