I think disabling the vista services you don't want, will help:

See if Windows loads faster if you disable kaspersky KIS2009 and yahoo messenger at startup.
Also, use this utility to find what programs load at startup
    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/strun.html
Or you can use the much advanced Autorun from Sysinternals.

    Things you can try-

1.Use CCleaner @ www.ccleaner.com to disable unwanted Startup entries.
2.Uninstall programs that you do not use. If I am not wrong, you have Oracle installed. Oracle degrades your PC performance.Try uninstalling Oracle.
3.Scan your PC again with Kaspersky 2009.
4.Use Tune-Up Utilities 2008 @ www.tune-up.com to maintain your PC and manage Startup Entries.
5.I all of the above methods fail, then try Booting your PC in Safe Mode to check what is the problem.

Hope your problem gets solved ASAP........ :D

Does it takes a few minutes to startup? If yes, you might want to check your services and make sure that Event Log service is started.
