Yesterday, I tried to access the internet through IE 7 on my laptop (my laptop from school but kept at home), however a page comes up with ''navigation cancelled'', then it quickly refreshes and a new page comes up which says ''this program cannot display the webpage'', but I know there is no problem with the internet connection as I could login into msn and I could access the internet through RealPLayer's browser. From realplayers browser I downloaded opera but the same page came up with opera. My laptop and my pc are on the same network but my pc works fine. I think the problem might be with IE being restricted to access the internet.

    Thanks for any help,

Start > Run: cmd and at the prompt type and enter:
    netsh winsock reset catalog
    then reboot.

If the previous step doesn't work, then try this:
Start > Run: cmd and at the prompt type and enter:
    netsh int ip reset all
    then reboot.

Do not re-install OS. It will be hard to collect the updates and software again.
    Try repairing it:

Repair seems to be a good option but we must be more interested in investigating the cause of the problem. Can other programs access internet like AV update or Windows update ?
See if pinging google or yahoo server from cmd works.

My AV (rising antivirus) can't update but as I said earlier I can log onto msn

Pinging yahoo and google works fine

Im baffled as to how real player can access the internet through its own built in browser but IE and Opera cant

    Did you try this ...
    Goto cmd and type

    ping google.com

If this command works properly, then the problem is with some settings.

Open IE and enter this in address bar, see if this IP address leads to google
    72.14.207.99

And verify that IE setting is proper.
