    help: i messed with system32 files

    i have recently heard that directx 10 has been released for xp, i downloaded some files from net and copied it in my system32 folder in windows
    now the problem which i have been facing is that i can't install any diretx setup it tells me that it has not passed windows logo andthen i can't the directx

    can you tell what to do now, should i install the windows again or is there any way???

    If it really was directx10, it would have come with an installer of some sort.

    As far as I know, there are no official DirectX 10 for Windows XP. Only hacked version.

    and raymond what do you say should i install directx 10as you already know its hacked one. does this directx really works? does this improves games performance?

    It's advised that you stay away from that DirectX 10 for XP. Version 9 will suffice for everyone. MS frequently releases DirectX 9 updated versions.
    Only NEW heavy games make use of DirectX 10. To make full use of it, you need a high-end graphics card that supports DirectX 10 too.

    i have a good graphics card
    i have 8800 GTS which supports directx 10
    and thanx i ll use directx 9 and may be later on shift to vista for directx 10

    YOu would only need is one of your games came with it and said you need to install it.
