I have question here. Is there any AV installable on Linux (without using Wine) which can scan Windows viruses in NTFS partitions from linux ? I understand that detection rates will be low as windows virus can't run in linux. So heuristic won't work. But just wanted to know if there are any.

I once tested QuickHeal 2007 and after installing, it deleted harmless files like UHARC from system32 folder. Even it damaged 'Program Files' folder. I was pretty sure I didn't have any viruses then but still my PC was totally messed up by QuickHeal.
I don't recommend it!

Antivirus Rescue CD would work. Kaspersky Rescue CD, Avira, BitDefender and F-Secure all run in Linux, but cannot be installed.
