desktop icons are highlighted with blue

does anyone know how to disable highlighted texts in the desktops. there all highlighted with blue.

hey, I too had the same problem with my xp. but i thought that it comes on when the computer gets old. and when i reinstalled xp, the icons retained themselves.

Try changing the theme

mine isnt old. i installed xp few days ago. i think it was some configurations.

Start >> Control Panel >> System >> Advanced >> Performance >> Settings >>Visual >> Effects >> "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the Desktop"

thnaxz a lot mark it worked. i found it when googling but in those forum the people who tried the method replyed it didnt work so i didnt try. but since u told i tried and worked. thnxz
