    how to install codec manually

How to remove Windows media player which comes with windows.

i want to use any other low ram seeker MEDIA player for all type of media.

Winamp is best for audio files.

    For video ?? any suggestion.

I don't want to install any codec pack which comes with many unneeded things.

I want to install codec manually when needed only.

I just want to run these extension.

    • Quick time file (on dektop or browser both)
    • RMVB , RM , RA
    • MKV
    • Divx (avi)
    • DAT (video cd)
    • xvid
    • FLV
    • WMA
    • m4v
Save Trees. Print only when necessary

Lol. That's pretty much all the basic codecs. For that, I'd suggest K-lite Codec Pack. Use Quicktime Alternative, Real Alternative and MediaPlayer Classic.

That comes bundled with Media Player Classic. That, VLC and BSPlayer Pro are good. I use both Media Player Classic and VLC but I've heard that BSPlayer is good too.

There's never too much codecs. Having more codecs is generally a good thing because you never know when you might have to play some obscure file extension. K-Lite codec pack FULL is only 15 MB, K Lite Basic is only 4.3 MB while Media Player Classic with codecs is only 2 MB+.

Don't remove it. Just associate all your media extensions with your preferred Media Player

K-lite Codec Pack + Quicktime Alternative + Real Alternative and MediaPlayer Classic

Do i need to install all 4 ?

i've seen a ace mega codec pack which has all but comes with many more unneeded things.

Not really, K Lite Codec Player with MediaPlayer Classic bundled should be just fine. Quicktime Alternative and Real Alternative are just options.

Install K-Lite Codecs Pack to make WMP play files. Otherwise, use [url=http://www.videolan.org/vlc/]VLC Media Player or [url=http://www.gomlab.com/eng/GE_Introduction.html]GOMPlayer for a zero worry audio+video playback.

u can uninstall wmp by going to add or remove programes and then select add or remove system componantes. then select what u want to keep on ur computer and disselect all what u dont want.

for a good player use the once which the guys suggested. vlc,bs player, gom etc.

Why not just install VLC? It is a freeware, plays nearly anything (video related), and is a great software.
