How can I use two operating systems?

Last night I installed vista, after that computer could not open xp. C drive shows xp in a folder 'old version'. How can I install two operating systems like vista with Linux or xp with vista? Is it possible that two operating systems will run in one computer?

Google for "dual-boot vista linux" and you will find many answers on how to achieve that. Be aware that a dual-boot system is more vulnarable.

Not at all. A dual boot system is just as secure as a single boot, if not more so.

First you have to have partitions. Install one os on one, the second on the other. If it's xp and vista install vista second. Xp will not recognize Vista. If you do it the other way around there are boot managers. Be careful with linux, it will change the file system on the partition you will be using it on. Don't keep stuff there hoping it will be ok. Or if you have an ok computer use a virtual machine. unless you want 3d in both OSes.
