    Can't believe my eyes

This morning, while I was browsing through The Star (an English daily in Malaysia), I was stunned to see that one of the freewares they recommended was AVG! Every Tuesday and Thursday, The Star will have a pullout call In-Tech dedicated to stuff regarding with computers and handphones. With a population of about 20 million +, no wonder AVG is getting free publicity. To be more precise, that was the only antivirus they recommended. Hello, there are few good ones better than AVG, like Rising, Avast and Avira and they had to recommend AVG. They even got the nerve to ask people to buy AVG if they like it.Obviously the people in charge of the In-Tech column aren't so tech-savvy. They should hire people like Raymond and his Moderators who can do I better job.

Sorry about venting my frustrations here and I hope you all don't mind. I am currently feeling anti-AVG.

The Star newspaper can be found in this here.http://thestar.com.my/

No its not about being techie - It's business and recommending AVG is just a simple marketing strategy.

    money + marketing = recommendation

The great response of AVG 7.5 has stirred the faith in AVG 8.0 in people's minds. Many PC magazines also recommend AVG 8.0 even now. I am sure there are quite a lot better options than AVG 8.0.

It is just that their market is down, and they want some publicity to get their money rolling. AVG 8 took the AVG's market down, so they make it look good by fake publicity.

Every one likes AVG, as it it is free, and some guys still like it. It is only that AVG 8 runied their hopes, and what they thought about the company.
