    That would be the sign of a very nasty virus if it's locking you out...

    or a reduced account. But I assume it's the former of the two.

    Try going to Start> Run> and Enter taskmgr.exe

    # Click Start
    # Click Run
    # Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
    # In the Group Policy settings window

    * Select User Configuration
    * Select Administrative Templates
    * Select System
    * Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
    * Select Enable Task Manager

    neither msconfig nor regedit is accepted
    it gets restarted by saying the same problem
    'the task manager has been disabled by computer'
    also i've already tried the process mentioned above

    Run a Spybot Search and Destroy scan, or better still, download one of the LiveCDs Raymond posted (the Kasprasky one seems to work the best) and scan for viruses. If it detects any, delete them. Then try my early tricks.

    Download Remove Restrictions Tool (RRT) from here and use it to enable all the disabled Windows components.

    It is just that the administrator of the computer has restricted some widnows components.

    We need to scan everytime we find any problem.

    check this .reg key out. it is supposed to enable windows task manager.

    even though regedit is disabled it wont' matter.
    this is only for windows xp though
