Has the same ribbon interface that Office has... don't like that at all.

that's not ribbon... just some big icons below menu... anyway i posted this before i saw it was a trial (i don't have permissions to delete a thread) and only because i saw some people having problems with resize/resample/conversions, etc with several other also popular tools... i don't use it either (irfanview/xnview) but maybe this kind if gui is more easy and intuitive to newbies providing that nothing is hidden behind menus. not saying this is an ultimate solution, just another solution... but feel free to delete it providing it's trial.

Eh, some of the other posts have trials too. And it looks nearly exactly like the ribbon, so I still don't like the GUI.

You can try also [url=http://www.vso-software.fr/products/image_resizer/]VSO Image Resizer which is free for non-commercial use.

[url=http://forums.vso-software.fr/guide-how-to-use-free-image-resizer-by-vso-t9418.html]Guide: How to use Free Image resizer by VSO

    ------------------------------

Edit: this software is labeled as 'ad-supported' in softpedia (they are using a beta mirror or something) but latest version (2.2.2.1) does NOT do any of the following:

    · Attempts to change the homepage for web browsers installed on the system
    · Attempts to change the default search engine for web browsers installed on the system
    · Offers to download or install software or components (Ask Toolbar) that the program does not require to fully function

It does show 1 aditional screen, other than that integrates well in IE and seems to work well.

I'm using IrfanView. It's the best. Check http://www.irfanview.com/ for more info. It has everything you need, including batch for resizing.

But Xnview doesn't support cut and paste features. I think its called cropping. In Irfanview I just select some part of an image use ctrl+x then paste it in new window to generate new image. In Xnview is there any option like that?

You should try Paint. NET. It does all that and much more and it’s free. And free is good.
