Google Picasa has the capability to watermark your images. It has opacity slider and has great fonts, you can even use the old ms paint can do lay a text on any images...

- Google Picasa is a free image editor, manager & viewer.
- Microsoft Paint is default windows graphic program
Both has the capability to watermark your picture, of the two Picasa has the option to watermark your images by batch. Ok, since neither of them can create invisible watermark ( the required task to protect your images in non-conventional manner ).
Try these :

Just an interest, why you need own software to do that job if you can do it already on your photo edit software (like Picasa, Paint, Paint.net, Photoshop.........) Or did i miss something?

Use GIMP - http://www.gimp.org/ and this watermark script by Doug Reynolds - http://registry.gimp.org/files/watermark.scm.
