ACER 1916 Monitor - GREEN TINT

I'm aware most of us have monitors, those of us that don't are using a laptop

Mine just got a green tint. And I don't have the money to replace it. It's an ACER 1916, and I've changed the cable to try and see if it was the cable or not. It's not.

I also tried to see if the connection was loose or something. It's not.

So that leaves me to degauss it. And it's an LCD monitor. Does anyone know of a way I could do that without a degaussing iron? Because I don't have one... but I'd like to get my monitor going again.

    Thanks guys.

Hi hellnoire,I didn't think you needed to degauss a lcd monitor but from what I remember about the subject try a soldering iron.
    1. Take a soldering iron and point its tip away from the monitor.
    2. Place it in the middle of the screen, keeping it near the monitor. Turn it on.
    3. Move the soldering iron along the edges of the screen, then put it back into the center of the screen.
    4. Begin to move away slowly, until the distortion is no longer visible on the screen.

The trick when doing this is using a magnetic field with a continuously varying polarity. This is why using a regular magnet is not an option. In fact, it will most likely damage the monitor.

You need not degauss LCD and plasma-based monitors.

If your monitor does not have a menu button or a degauss option, try to hold the Brightness and Contrast buttons simultaneously. Many monitor models use this as a shortcut for degaussing.
