Thanks a lot Paf! That is simply an incredible view!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Been there once and it's amazing.
The paintaings on the ceilings are awesome and the wall paintaings are very real.
Since you are not allowed to take photographs in there, this is the next best option.

There were A LOT of people in the Sistine Chapel. Nearly every empty public space stood a human being...
The worst was there were signs showing no photography but some people were snapping away and the guard there kept on shouting, "NO PHOTO, NO PHOTO!". It was annoying because this is happening every 5-10 minutes. The guards even threatened to confiscate their camera.
It's a chapel, place of worship. SHOW SOME RESPECT.

I'm glad you liked, guys. I've been there once, before the beginning of the restoration, and it was really amazing. I got speechless, I just wanted to be able to stay there for the all day, trying to record on my mind every detail I could see. I felt the same when I saw the Taj Mahal at sunset: I just sat on a rock staring for a long, long time, and sudenly all the heat and the fatigue and the tourists desapeared, the only things that exist were the object of admiration and my eyes and mind.
Raymond, I agree with you 100%: many people don't know what respect is towards a work of art or a sacred place. I remember when I when to visit the great Aztec pyramids (which were temples). I had the opportunity to visit them without tourists (it's a long story...) and I was very quiet, just watching, and my mexican friend told me almost the same words that you used: "these are sacred places, we have to show respect, we are close to the gods".
Guys, sorry to bother you with memories
. Anyway, this sistine chapel site allow us to see details that we could not see if we were there. It's not the same, but it's very nice. And those of you who have not been there yet may be happy because you can see more than thos of us who have ;D.

It sounds like you have traveled to many great places Paf and I envy you that. Those kind of memories stay with you for a lifetime. I have mainly traveled in the US and Canada myself, but hopefully someday I can make it overseas God willing.
