I'd add more ram and a good, keyword GOOD video card. Your ram is very low, especially when today's standard is at least a gig.

I'm running three gigs in all my personal computers, and a ATI/Sapphire PRO 256 mb card now in my Linux box.

Overclocking is never recommended unless you know what you're doing. So no, don't go for it.

Adding a stick of ram and a video card doesn't make your computer any different, it just eases what you've got. I started with what you've got for my desktop, and upgraded most of it. The video card is still $H!t but still.

Your Task manager shows two processors usually only shows two if it is a dual core processor. As far as assigning specific tasks to specific cores, try this:

Probably won't do anything for performance, but why haven't you upgraded to SP3?
If you do not use the "Search" function to search your HD for data, disabling "indexing" will give your apps a lot more CPU cycles to play with.

Some basic tweaks can be found here.Take note of all of the services you can disable or set to manual-this is a big help in gaining speed.

Yup, your PC is aching for a better GPU and more RAM.

I don't know your wallet, but I would consider buying a new PC, you can get a decent non-gaming PC for a cheap buck these days and sell this one for some change...

    Think about it...
    Something to remember...
