    BSOD 0x000000A5

    Hey People,

I'm trying to help my girlfriend with her laptop and on day she got a BSOD 0x000000A5 message. I checked for BIOS updates and it seems as though she has the latest version. The message is:

The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your service vendor or visit www.hardware-update.com for an updated BIOS....

    The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite M45 - S331.

I tried starting in safe mode but I get the same message.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

    Thanks
    trini

    Hi

Try by removing your system battery for 5 seconds or resetting your CMOS by the jumper in motherboard

    or
    b) Uninstall the anti-virus software from the system and restart the computer.
    c) Double-click the saved "SP3" file on the desktop screen and initiate the installation of XP SP3 update. Follow the instructions on the installation wizard.
    d) Restart the computer after XP SP3 installation is finished.
    e) Re-install the anti-virus software.

    Go into safe mode.
Find "intelppm.sys" in the system32 subdirectory of windows.
    rename that file to "intelppm.sys.old"
    restart.
