Netbook processor
My wife is planning to buy a HP mini note (netbook), there are 2 kinds of HP netbook model one which has VIA C7-M ULV processor (1.2 GHz, 128 KB L2 cache, 800 MHz FSB, and the other one has Intel N270 ATOM processor (1.60 GHz, 512 KB L2 cache, 533 MHz FSB) which is much better?

Which price is higher?
If both price is the same, choose Intel.

It seems odd that HP would offer these two 'mis-matches'. Obviously, the mobo must match the capacity of the CPU. The faster CPU is matched to a mobo that will support its capacity. The slower CPU is matched to a (probably cheaper for them) mobo that will support higher speeds, plus. Think about it...there is a reason they didn't pick the cheaper, faster (FSB..."front side bus") mobo to pair with their 'better' CPU' option. At the slower CPU speed, it might be reliable...at the higher one, NOT. HP has been around for longer than the PC has existed. They might look for 'best deals', but they don't make decisions lightly. Unless there is a substantial price difference, go with the Intel option.

Almost the same price.
Thanks. We'll go for the Intel Atom.
